You have expressed exactly what I have been experiencing. Yes I have been volunteering in the nursery and making coffee when just a few years ago I was leading two Women’s groups, actively involved in theater and dance ministry, training younger dancers and then my daughter has boomeranged back home for the past ten years . I stepped back from ministry when my mom got sick, then my dad and their deaths. I looked around and my home church decided to focus on raising up the next generation of leaders. I was at the point of getting my second wind which deflated. I felt as though I was being put out to pasture. “Thank you very much for your service”, here’s your gold watch see ya. I’m a boomer for heaven’s sake! We are SUPPOSED to be the ones who change the status quo! I’m ready, charged up and waiting. Give me my marching orders! I want to be relevant! I want deep friendships, to grow in my faith, my worship, my walk with my Lord and my brothers and sisters in Christ!
